And So It Begins…

Migrant workers in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, prepare to board their train as they head home in preparation for the upcoming Lunar New year celebrations. Yep, the Spring Festival travel rush–also known as chunyun— is on like Donkey Kong. Despite the 40-day travel season from hell not beginning for another 10 days, for certain groups–namely college students and some migrant workers–the journey home is already here. Smart move if possible, for the crowds using China’s transportation infrastructure during the peak season of January 24 to March 3 is chaos personified. Think “Planes, Trains, and Automobiles” but with millions of Steve Martins and John Candys. Or is that Candies?
