In fact, I don’t like the word climate change, it’s climate degradation. A change could be positive. This one is not positive at all.
Cooperation, in a sense, is based on a very simple idea: we are stronger together.
It is very encouraging to see the creation for reaching carbon neutrality by the mid-21st century, and the commitment by Chairman Xi Jinping in this respect is extremely important.
I think that putting back the individual at the center of this should be our guiding line in order to find the form of cooperation, cooperation with people and for people.
The NDB, bringing these countries that are so different together to work on issues of common interest, is the best practical example of the value of cooperation, collaboration and working together.
At the beginning of the 21st century, China and Europe strengthened by their history and future possibilities, which can unlock their dynamical potential and common interest in alliance to change the face of earth.
The CIIE is more than just exposure, we can also cement deals. We have had signings during the event already, and we are very confident that we will secure many more deals as a result of CIIE.
In this time of difficulties between the countries, I believe that trade and business will lead us out of this valley and back to a positive relationship.
Believing in the protection of heritage, China nowadays has the most heritage sites inscribed on the World Heritage List, is number one, 55 heritage sites, protecting also the intangible heritage, the tradition. It’s a wonderful example that when a country, when a people awakens up, it is through culture, it is through this deep, I would say, belief and respect for diversity and for culture.
China’s development experiences provide substantive lessons to other developing countries, and although they all have different national contexts, China’s experiences can be effectively adapted to address local challenges through the South-South Cooperation platform.
It is our duty to be adaptive, flexible and responsive in times of crises so our members can continue investing in these kinds of infrastructure.
