President Xi Jinping on Monday said China will implement eight major initiatives with African countries in the next three years and beyond, covering fields such as industrial promotion, infrastructure connectivity, trade facilitation, and green development.
The country follows a “five-no” approach in its relations with Africa: no interference in African countries’ pursuit of development paths that fit their national conditions; no interference in African countries’ internal affairs; no imposition of China’s will on African countries; no attachment of political strings to assistance to Africa; and no seeking of selfish political gains in investment and financing cooperation with Africa.

“Thanks to the aid provided by China, our country has undergone significant changes.”
“China is providing us the technology, the equipment, and of course the financial assistance, which is helping promote the development of African countries.”
While still a work in progress, FOCAC, with leaders of its members gathering in Beijing this September for the Third Summit, will offer a milestone in the life of the organization.
“When we trade with China, it’s win-win cooperation, and this equal partnership is benefitting Africa more.”
“I think China is playing a key role in the development of Africa, and in particular Zimbabwe.”
“China presents a positive development model to us developing countries, particularly African countries and we would like to become part of this dynamic initiative launched by China.”
The next priority of jointly advancing the initiative is to realize its high-quality development, Xi said.
As Central Asian countries actively integrate their national strategies with the Belt and Road Initiative, some Western media are misinterpreting and even censuring the initiative.
